Project ACCESS is a Department of Education Title V Promoting Post-Baccalaureate Opportunities for Hispanic Americans (PPOHA) funded program. The main goal of Project ACCESS (Accelerating Completion and Career Education in the School of Sciences) is to enable Hispanics and low-income students with academic ability to successfully complete postsecondary degrees in biotechnology, biology, chemistry, mathematics and information data science, and to pursue careers in STEM fields.
Award amounts vary; selected students may be awarded up to $5,000 per semester.
To be eligible for this scholarship, you must meet the following eligibility requirements:
•Must be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident
•Must be a graduate student in the School of the Sciences (in Biotechnology, Biology, Chemistry, Math, or Informatics).
•Must be enrolled in a minimum of 5 credit hours, or equivalent, in each semester receiving funds.
•Must have a cumulative 3.2 GPA in each semester receiving funds.
•Students must demonstrate financial need as defined by eligibility for Federal need-based financial aid.
oStudents are required to complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) each year, and eligibility may change year to year according to the results of the FAFSA.
•Project ACCESS 2023-2024 scholarship winners may submit a 2024-2025 application; however, priority will be given to students that are first time applicants.
