Programme Overview

The Guaranteed Reserve Forces Duty Scholarship program (also known as GRFD) is designed for students/cadets with maximum 2 years remaining on their undergraduate or graduate degree and are interested in obtaining a commission in the United States Army National Guard or Reserves.

Interested students must be willing to enlist in the ARNG or USAR. If the student is currently enlisted in the ARNG or USAR, we will work with your current command to have you converted to a cadet status. Recipients of this scholarship must also agree to serve in the Army National Guard or Army Reserve after commissioning for a period of not less than eight years.

Benefits

Full Tuition & Fees. The scholarship pays full tuition & fees every semester and provides $1200/yr for books and a stipend of $420/mo. Additionally, Florida Tech includes housing & meals for all scholarship winners.

Housing & Meals. The scholarship pays $5000 to the student every semester and provides $1200/yr for books and a stipend of $420/mo. It is the responsibility of the awardee to pay all tuition and fees. 

Requirements

You Must:

  • Have a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or Higher
  • Have applied to and been accepted at Florida Tech
  • Be a United States citizen or naturalized
  • Be able to pass Army Physical Fitness Test (APFT)*
  • Be able to pass an Army Combat Fitness Test (ACFT)*
  • Be medically qualified through United States Department of Defense *
  • Complete a personal interview
