The Kevin D. Gorter Scholarship Award is funded by a donation from the Kevin Gorter Memorial Fund. Kevin, who passed away in 1987, was the son of Audrey and Jim Gorter and the brother of David F. Gorter ’80, current Chairman of the Lake Forest College Board of Trustees. Kevin was born and raised in Lake Forest and graduated from Lake Forest High School and Duke University.
The Kevin D. Gorter Scholarship Award is designed to support academically excellent graduates from the College of Lake County who have significant financial need beyond scholarships and grants provided through the College. Six scholarships are awarded each year.
The College meets full financial need (tuition and fees) for all Gorter Scholars.
The Transfer Admissions Committee and the Vice President for Enrollment will select the Gorter Scholars for each fall term. No application is required and students must be accepted through the regular admission process.
