Programme Overview

This four-year award program, administered to new incoming first-year and transfer students who are residents of Lake County, Indiana gives recipients the opportunity to study at UIC for the equivalent of in-state tuition. In addition, housing grants may be offered to select recipients as a one-time $10,000 award ($5000 for the fall and spring semesters) that can be used toward UIC campus housing. This award may be renewable in the future if funds are available. Recipients will be informed if additional years become available. 

Benefits

This award, administered to new incoming first-year and transfer students who are members of one or more of the tribal nations recognized by the Bureau of Indian Affairs, gives recipients the opportunity to study at UIC for the equivalent of in-state tuition. Applicants are evaluated for the award during the admissions process. 

Requirements

High-achieving, nonresident students who plan to start as undergraduates for the Fall 2024-Spring 2025 terms may be eligible for one of the following awards. These awards are available for up to four years of study if students continue to satisfy all eligibility requirements. Award recipients must be:

• Nonresident, domestic students, who are assessed nonresident tuition
  • *Only students who are assessed the out-of-state, nonresident tuition rate are eligible for this award. If you become eligible for in-state tuition for any reason, at any time, these awards will not be applied.
• U.S. citizens or permanent residents
• Enrolled in an on-campus undergraduate program
• In good academic standing
